Originally, I intended to start today’s beauty discussion in a sophisticated and well-mannered way, but I’ll be straightforward. Moroccanoil hair care is pure hair indulgence. Forget everything you’ve tried on your hair so far. Yes, that includes 100% Pure and Olaplex products, which were my top benchmarks in the hairdressing world until recently.
There’s hair care. And then there’s Moroccanoil.

Moroccanoil Instead of Perfume
First, the scent. Oh, the SCENT! It’s unlike anything I’ve tried before. All products share the same fragrance, so they harmonize beautifully, layering and smelling… wow! It’s a combination of a freshly bathed baby, clean laundry, and something tropically sweet. Like a piña colada, but less fruity. It’s almost like a perfume. I can’t stop smelling it. Even as I write this, I have a strand of hair under my nose, eyes in complete nirvana, typing away. Such simple happiness!
The Calming Turquoise Color
I also adore the packaging colors. I know, it’s a trivial detail, mainly affecting how the bottles look together in the bathroom. But that matters too! It’s a beautiful turquoise shade that I also seek in clothing. Whether it’s a simple plastic shampoo bottle or the luxurious matte turquoise glass of the hair serum. Or the brown bottle with the hair oil, featuring a turquoise label. I love how it looks! And when I managed to get a set with a matching bag in the same colors… that’s just a delightful cherry on top. Turquoise!
I’ve been testing (and still am) six products: a set with conditioner, hair mask, and Moroccan Oil Treatment Original; then the Hydrating Shampoo, Restorative Hair Infusion (yes, they call it that!) for damaged hair, and the Smoothing Lotion. You’ve just read the recipe for perfect hair, in case you didn’t know. What do you need from this? Everything!

Hydrating Shampoo
How to best evaluate it? It lathers perfectly even during the first wash. I usually shampoo twice. Not here. Once is enough. After rinsing, the hair feels slightly squeaky but not tangled. To the touch, it feels strong but not rough. It’s also good that the shampoo doesn’t strip my color. Since I’m faking gray hair on black, that’s quite an important feature. Throughout the process, the amazing scent fills the entire bathroom. Even the neighbors three streets away can probably smell it.
The shampoo has the perfect consistency, meaning that when you dispense a teaspoon into your palm, you can spread it across your hands and then apply it to your hair without half of it ending up on the floor. Not only does the shampoo do its job well, but it also has a pleasant scent and offers user-friendly application—I’d rate it 11 out of 10. That’s how I’d charmingly put it in advertising speak.

Hair Mask
The next jar to explore is the hair mask, which I use after shampooing. Several years ago, I used a mask instead of conditioner. I saw it as either/or. Today, I’m wiser and know the order should be: shampoo, mask, conditioner. Then all the other goodies. But let’s focus on the mask.
Its scent is even more intense than the shampoo, and it has an interesting effect. Instead of watching the clock, waiting to get the hair-washing chore over with, I actually enjoy it. I apply the mask, forget about time, and relax. In the bath, with a book, watching a movie, whatever. The recommended duration is 5-7 minutes, but the mask isn’t the type of product that will harm you if you adjust the time slightly (I hope), so I usually exceed it by about five times.
After rinsing, the hair is incredibly soft, silky, and manageable. Add any quality you desire for your mane, and it’s there. Then add another 30% enthusiasm, and you’ll get the feeling that awaits you after using the conditioner.

The conditioner is just as user-friendly as the shampoo. Ideal consistency, wonderful scent, easy application, everything is right! Duration: 1-2 minutes.
And the result? Silk feels like rough sandpaper compared to your hair. Shine like lightning, softness without static or flyaways, and the constant urge to touch and stroke your hair. And move it around to spread that addictive scent. And detangling? It’s effortless!

We’ve Washed, What’s Next?
Moroccanoil Treatment Original
Apply the oil to the ends of your hair. Let your hair dry naturally or blow-dry as usual.
I use the Moroccanoil Treatment Original on damp hair as a post-wash treatment. It prevents hair from drying out, helps protect the ends, acts as an anti-static agent, makes styling and detangling easier, and overall strengthens and hydrates the hair. The ingredients include argan and flaxseed oil, along with silicones, meaning the hair won’t be greasy or weighed down, but the mixture will have a dry oil effect without a greasy feel. This information goes against the current trend of silicone-free hair care, but if it works for me, why wouldn’t I use it?
Oh, and a tip—I use the oil by gathering my hair into a ponytail with one hand and using the other (with a drop of oil on my fingers) to dab and massage all the ends. And that’s it. The oil smells the same as the entire line, but it has something extra that smells like vanilla to me.
Effect? Quite noticeable, I’d say. Just like the golden oil from Olaplex. In fact, the two are comparable, and I don’t find many differences between them. By the way—it’s been over a year since I burned my hair with a few bouts of bleaching. For the second time in five years. You’d think I’d learned from the first experience, but no. I had to repeat it because I forgot what it was like when I was blonde and had frizzy, straw-like hair from frequent bleaching. [insert eye-roll here] Well, that’s behind me now. Since then, I’ve just been growing it out, trimming, and nourishing.
At the beginning of this year, I managed to cut off the last damaged ends. But only in the back. The front was so damaged that I treat the ends like the most precious thing and urge them to grow back to the ideal bob length. Which I’m succeeding in, I’d say.

Smoothing Lotion
Besides the oil, Moroccanoil hair care also includes a Smoothing Lotion, which you apply to damp hair. You can work it through the lengths when you want to tame static and those tiny flyaways that love to rebel.
At the same time, it gives your hairstyle a bit of hold and structure. The lotion works as a styling mousse substitute—it smooths the hair, nourishes it, but doesn’t weigh it down. Perfect formula? Yep, I think so too!

Restorative Hair Infusion
And what about the special hyper-super cocktail Moroccanoil calls a Restorative Hair Infusion? You apply it to dry hair—it helps prevent split ends, strengthens the hair, and restores elasticity. It’s supposed to be an intensive treatment that literally resets your hair. Even if your strands are completely wrecked, this serum will try to bring them back to life.
The texture is non-greasy and watery, absorbs beautifully, and doesn’t leave your hair sticky or heavy. You can use it on the ends or run it through the full lengths.

Moroccanoil Hair Care – Summary
I’m absolutely thrilled with this entire set. My hair looks insanely beautiful and shiny—like I just stepped out of a salon with fresh color. What’s completely new for me is that I don’t even need to blow-dry my hair anymore. I can just let it air-dry and it won’t frizz, wave weirdly, or go all static. It’ll just smell divine and shine for miles and… honestly, I’ve got nothing more to add. If you want to be blown away, Moroccanoil hair care will gladly help with that. For me, it’s a total hit!
And if you’re still waiting for the catch, like a dramatic price tag after this whole love letter—don’t. Moroccanoil is actually in the mid-range price-wise, I’d say. The whole set I raved about here—six products total—would cost around 2,000 CZK. And trust me, it’s worth every single crown!
Final thoughts? Just wow.
Moroccanoil completely stole my heart (and my hair routine). If you’re dreaming of silky, shiny, frizz-free hair that behaves like it’s been professionally styled—but without the heat or hassle—this line is your golden ticket. And the best part? You don’t have to sell a kidney to afford it. Mid-range prices, salon-grade results. What more could you want?
