Dr. Hauschka Clarifying Clay Mask: The Secret to Radiant Skin

I can’t live without clay masks, but I also struggle to use them regularly. What am I talking about? Clay face masks! They work wonderfully for cleansing the skin, and I don’t remember any cream mask ever surpassing them. There’s something about clay masks, they just work. But – I absolutely hate the mess. Mixing the powder, applying it (and in an unguarded moment, spilling it on the laundry, sink, or shirt), and then the washing off process. Ugh. But despite all of that hassle and slight discomfort, they’re totally worth it, and you should definitely get at least one. Maybe you’ll find Dr. Hauschka’s deep cleansing clay mask handy, which I’m currently testing.

Dr. Hauschka’s clay mask is a well-thought-out product with only four ingredients, and it works from the first use. It comes in a beautiful white glass jar. I recommend using a spoon to scoop it out. Pouring it out isn’t practical. Tested for you.

A Pinch of Powder, a Drop of Water, and… 10x Repeat

Mixing powdered masks is a bit of an alchemy for me. I rarely get the water-to-mask ratio right by eye. So, I either add more mask or water drop by drop. It’s not uncommon for me to make enough for two people, so I end up applying it to my décolleté or arms too. It usually happens because I end up adding too much water and need to thicken it up and add more powder… The deep cleansing mask’s packaging wisely states to mix it in a 1:2 ratio (water:mask). I don’t think it gets any simpler than that. And still, I rarely get it right.

My Impressions of Masking

The mask is very pleasant during application. Normally, I feel like it cools a bit and hydrates my skin, or how should I put it? It’s like having your own mini air conditioner just for your face. And I must mention, this sensation lasts even after I wash the mask off. Or rather, when I wipe it off with a wet washcloth. If I tried to rinse it off with just water, I’d probably still be standing at the sink today. But that’s a common issue with most clay and powder masks. Exceptions aside. Using a washcloth makes the removal a breeze and takes just a few seconds. The washcloth, however, ends up looking like you’ve cleaned someone who didn’t quite handle the wine season too well.

What I really like is that my skin doesn’t feel tight after using the mask, and it looks visibly refreshed. It’s bright, firm, and clean. It even looks like it’s had a mini lift. In terms of results, I’d put this mask on a pedestal and worship it five times a day! It’s really impressive!

Dr. Hauschka Clay Mask – Ingredients

Mineral clay, nasturtium extract, witch hazel extract, corn starch. A quick side note – as for the nasturtium, I once tried a tincture of it as a cure. And I can say for sure that I didn’t get sick that year. It’s a powerful plant. So, if someone thought to add this plant to a face mask, I believe it could really work as an effective prevention for new pimples, blemishes, and other skin imperfections.

Conclusion

The description on the e-shop says this mask is also suitable for sensitive skin. Given that I didn’t feel the need to run for the greasiest cream I have after rinsing, I believe it. Dr. Hauschka’s mask doesn’t dry out the skin; it leaves it bright, clean, and soft. The softness, especially, is a pleasant surprise for me after using a clay mask. I’ve used some that left my face feeling like dry paper. But this one is a really nice surprise. Highly recommended!
